Linda (Buente) Berger, age 91, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Deaconess Hospice Care Center.
Mrs. Berger had worked in the cafeteria at Mater Dei High School and later at Grandy’s. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and a former member of Resurrection Catholic Church. Prior to living at Little Sisters, Mrs. Berger had volunteered her time there.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Jo Covey and her husband, Stan of Crawfordsville, IN; her son, Rex Berger of Cocoa Beach, FL; brother, Clarence Buente of Evansville and her granddaughter, Tara Covey of Crawfordsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Berger in 2002 and three brothers, Leroy, Edwin and Melvin Buente.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 14 at Little Sisters of the Poor, Rev. Gregory Chamberlain officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at Little Sisters of the Poor, 1236 Lincoln Ave.
