Theodore B. Krack, 92, of Evansville, known to friends and family as “Ted” and “Pops” passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Evansville October 14 to Pauline and Peter Krack.
Mr. Krack retired after 36 years with Bucyrus-Eric. He was a WW II veteran and served with the 7th Armored Division, “Lucky 7th” and was a member of the 7th Armored Division Association for 63 years. Ted was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, a present member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and its CASH Exercise Group. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 1114 and a member of the Twin Towers. In his pastime he loved playing par 3 golf, woodworking, and going to Mater Dei High School football games, and traveling.
Ted was a most generous and gracious husband, father and grandfather.
Ted is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary (Brown) Krack. He is also survived by a daughter, Sr. Mary Ruth Krack, O.S.B., four sons, Paul Krack and partner Bob Harris, John Krack, Larry Krack and his wife Vickie, Timothy Krack and his wife Michelle, a stepson, David Brown and his wife Rosie. Also surviving are grandsons Matt and Andy Krack, granddaughters Jennifer and Stacy Krack, SSgt. USAF Amy Wright and husband Alan Wright, Carrie Krack and fiancé Joe Darling, great granddaughter Kassidy Duran, step grandchildren Dr. Lindsey Ellerbrook and husband Mike, Aaron, Jason and Jennifer Conger, Hope and Isaih Wright.
Mr. Krack was preceded in death by his first wife of 36 years, Alberta (Logel) Krack, brothers, Henry, Cornelius, Carl, Alvin, Julius, Emanuel, Bernard and a sister Marie.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 A.M. Friday, September 18 at Pierre Funeral Home continuing at 10:00 A.M. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Rev. David Nunning officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where a memorial service will be conducted at 4:30 P.M.
The family requests memorial contributions are made to St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club or the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand, IN.
The family graciously thanks the VNA Hospice and Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center.
