Frances J. (Dick) Koch, age 87, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Bell Oaks Terrace in Newburgh.
Frances was a homemaker who loved quilting and working word search and jigsaw puzzles. She was a former member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Juanita “Cookie” Singer and her husband, Mel of Evansville, Judith A. Gottfried of Oswego, IL, Roberta J. Ochsner and her husband, Robert of Newburgh, IN., and Janet E. Scheu and her husband, Tim, of Evansville; four sons and their wives, Michael J. and Patti Koch of Santa Claus, IN, Thomas C. and Miwako Koch of Osaka, Japan, Robert G. and Nancy Koch of Wallingford, CT and David G. and Terri Koch of Mt. Vernon, IN. Also surviving are two sisters, Josephine Schmitt and Ida Laymon and her husband, Russell, all of Evansville; two brothers, Edward Dick, Jr. and his wife, Mitzi of Colorado and Thomas Dick of Evansville; twenty five grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Koch in April of 1992,
sister, Lorine Foster, son-in-law, Dennis Gottfried and a great grandson, Gabriel Koch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Poseyville, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Poseyville.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a Rosary said at 2:00 P.M. Friends may also visit from 10:30 A.M. until service time on Thursday at the church.
The family requests memorial contributions are made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bell Oaks Terrace and Solarbron Retirement Community for their kindness and care.
