Obituary:
Charles A. “Art” Eagan, age 91, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Eagan had served on the Evansville Police Department for 23 years before retiring from St. Mary’s Medical Center in the security department. Art was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #73, a life member of the Retired Police and Firefighters Association and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving Art are his son, Charles R. “Skip” Eagan and his wife, Glenda of Evansville; sister, Mary Lou Hilderbrandt of Evansville; four grandchildren, Teresa R. Grisham and her husband, Glenn, Kimberly R. Schuetz, Kurt V. Bredemeier and Kerry L. Eagan and his wife, Julie. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, Matthew Z. Grisham and his friend, Ashley Burke, Ashley L. Schuetz, Logan J. Schuetz, Dylan L. Eagan and Madison P. Eagan. Art was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Wilma (Baggett) Eagan in Jan. 2004; a daughter, Linda Bredemeier in 1976; two sisters, Dorothy Koring and Eileen Goodwin and three brothers, Oliver, Alfred and William “Jerry” Eagan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Michael Stoelting officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or your favorite charity.
