Raymond J. Helfert, 87, of Wadesville, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Helfert was employed at Whirlpool Corporation for 38 years before retiring.
He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ at Parker Settlement.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna (Raber) Helfert, two sons and their wives, Stephen R. and Theresa Helfert and Dennis and Jill Helfert, all of Evansville, two sisters, Fronie Ritzert of Boonville and Albertine Miller of Wadesville and one brother, Otto Helfert of Wadesville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Nick Helfert, Selena Cavazos, Molly Johnson, Deena Paulos and Mitchel Helfert and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth (Reisinger) and Nicholas Helfert; two grandchildren, Tina and Kieth Helfert, five sisters, Gertrude Helfert, Theresa Trigg, Margaret Bell, Olivia Burton and Lorene Sirels and two brothers, Clarence and Ben Helfert.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Karen Lipinczyk officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
The Helfert family would like to thank Deaconess Hospice, especially Laura and Nancy and Dr. Robert Rusche and his staff for their compassion and care.
