Frank E. Conkling, 81, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Conkling was employed at Bristol Myers for 35 years before retiring in 1988. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the VFW Post # 1114. Frank enjoyed bluegrass music and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was always there to help his family and friends.
Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Harriette (Crouch) Conkling, a daughter, Amy (Bob) Hisch of Evansville and four sons, Kenneth (Maureen) of Newburgh and Matthew (Lesa), Frank J. (Mary) and Tom (Lisa) Conkling, all of Evansville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Kenneth and David Hisch, Michael, Matthew, Katie, Lauren, Kasey, Ashley and Elizabeth Conkling and four great grandchildren, Miaka, Matilynn and Madden Conkling and Addison Whitfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian (Berger) and Frank E. Conkling and his brother, Ed Conkling.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. David Nunning officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2701 W. Franklin Street, Evansville, IN 47712.
