Ronald E. Bailey, Sr., age 63, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Bailey had been employed at Whirlpool for 34 years. He was a member of the Evansville Racing Pigeon Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, music and cooking barbeque in his own special sauce.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda (Ritcheson) Bailey; two daughters, Constance Long of Hampton, VA and Brandie Johnson of Evansville; two sons, Larry Roberts of Laverne, TN and Ronald Bailey, Jr. of Evansville; six sisters, Kristi Finn of Evansville, Patricia Hopson-Shelton of Lancaster, PA, Benestine Harris and Annette Russell of Indianapolis, Paula Hopson-Stanley of Washington, D.C. and Valerie Hopson-Bell of Fredericksburg, VA, two brothers, Frederick Gee of Evansville and Dwight Hopson of Indianapolis and a step brother, Charles Gee of Evansville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Robert L. Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street
