Matilda “Tillie” (Straub) Lupfer, 97, of Poseyville, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the New Harmonie Heathcare Center.
Mrs. Lupfer was a homemaker and had worked at Allison’s Nursing Home for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Tillie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Lupfer in 1983 and her son, Leo Lupfer in 2002.
Surviving Tillie are her daughter-in-law, Melita Lupfer of Evansville, her nephew and care giver, Joe Lupfer of Cynthiana; neighbors and care givers, Martha Scheller, Darlene Martin and Frank Bender, all of Poseyville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Pierre Funeral Home with Sr. Leta Zeller officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville. A memorial mass will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, March 15, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
The family would like to thank the New Harmonie Healthcare Center and their staff for the care and compassion shown to Tillie.
