Eugene D. “Geno” Irvin, age 80, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, March 09, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Irvin was a self employed contractor his entire life and was currently employed at John’s Dental Lab and a volunteer at Meals on Wheels. He loved music, especially playing the guitar and received his G.E.D. at the young age of 78. Geno was an avid Bible reader and considered himself a rich man, having been blessed with loving family and a strong faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara (Harris) Irvin; three daughters, Cheryl (Jimmie) Beasley of Murfreesboro, TN, Myrrl (Eric) Choate and Leah (Rick) Vaughn, all of Evansville; one son, Brian Eugene (Janie) Irvin of Glen Rose, TX and a sister, Connie Allen of Wood River, IL. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Andrea (Pat) Henry, Jace (Stephanie) Beasley, Tara Choate, Nancy Richards, Nathan Vaughn, Zachary (Tiffany) Bryan, Sarah Bryan, Samuel Vaughn, Chris (Ashley) Irvin, Josh Irvin and Katie Irvin and four great grandchildren, Walter Willis, Michael Nolan, Jacques Beasley, and Austin Richards and many nieces and nephews.
Geno was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Turpenning and four brothers, Wilbur (Red), Jess, Ernie and Dan Irvin and granddaughter Erica Choate Willis.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. David Niednagel officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
