Obituary:
Caroline B. Baehl, 86, of Evansville passed away surrounded by the love of her family, Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital Main Campus. Caroline was a charter member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and a member of the Owl’s Booster Club, the AARP and the Senior Citizens Club. She was an active volunteer at the Heritage Center and the VFW Post #6576 Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary. She was employed for 20 years at the Country School Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her first husband and love of her life, Urban M. Baehl in 1972, her second husband, Robert Schoenbachler, three brothers, Earl, Harold and Ralph Bittner and one sister, Elvera Godeke. Caroline is survived by three daughters, Joan E. Baehl, Mary (Tony) Baehl Schneider and Brenda (Paul) Wallace, all of Evansville and one son, Michael (Karen) Baehl of Naperville, IL; one sister, Mildred Schultheis of Evansville and five brothers, Melvin Bittner of Haubstadt, Francis, James, Chester and Edward Bittner all of Evansville. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Cathy (Toby) Wilcox, Debbie (Ron) Plump, Mark (Jaime) Kast, Matt (Renee) Kast, Stephannie Baehl, Andrea (Bryan) Baehl Derdenger, Michael Baehl, Valerie Baehl, Emily Baehl, Gabrielle Baehl, Nicholas Baehl, Elizabeth Baehl, Kari Schneider Akin, Troy Schneider and Kaitlin Rinehart and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Rev. Paul Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Saturday at Holy Redeemer. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
