Shirley Ann (Winiger) Kaufman, age 75, of Wadesville, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital.
Shirley was a wonderful wife and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She, along with her husband, had owned and operated Kaufman’s Marathon on N. Main Street in Evansville and several other small businesses in the Tri-State area. She was a member of the Posey County Roadrunner’s Club, a leader in the Posey County 4-H Club and a member of the Thursday evening prayer group and St. Philip Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Charles Kaufman; four daughters, Charlene Kaufman of Wadesville, Cynthia Kaufman of Indianapolis, IN, Celeste Byrns and Caroline (Victor) Doubiago, both of Evansville; two sons, Christopher Kaufman of Evansville and C. Paul Kaufman of Wadesville. Also surviving are two sisters, Marilyn “Pat” Singer of Evansville and Carolyn Combs of Newburgh; eight grandchildren, Carla Kaufman, Travis McClarney, Carson Doubiago, Shae Doubiago, Michael Doubiago, Cassie Jo Kaufman, Carly Kaufman and Alex Kaufman and two great grandchildren, Chloe and Caleb Kaufman.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Tom Kessler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where a rosary will be said at 4:00 P.M.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Deaconess Hospital 2900 ICU for their care of Shirley during her time there.
