Mildred (Seifert) Kohlmeyer, 88, of Wadesville passed away Tuesday, Mary 4, 2010 at New Harmonie Health Care.
Mildred was born in Posey County to parents, Walter and Matilda Seifert on March 2, 1922 and was a 1939 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.
She was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Caborn and a 50 year member of Cynthiana Chapter 445 Order of Eastern Star.
Mildred and her husband, Carl, were avid Republicans in Posey County where she served two terms as Posey County Assessor and presided over the Republican Ladies Club for many years.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Kohlmeyer, son James Kohlmeyer, and grandchildren, Amy and Gregory Schmitt.
She is survived by her daughter Melody and her husband Larry Schmitt of St. Philip, her grandson, Michael Schmitt and his fiancée Angie Byrd, daughter in law, Donna Kohlmeyer, her sister, Idella and her husband Jim Davis of Mt. Vernon, brothers and sisters in law, Leroy Kohlmeyer, Bill and Dot Kohlmeyer, Joyce Kohlmeyer, Ellie Nolen, Clenneth and Shirley Kohlmeyer, along with step grandchildren, Tom and Lori Forrester, David and Janelle Patton and step great grandchildren, Andrew, Marra, Emily and Darin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday May 7, 2010 at Pierre Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Caborn,
Friends may visit with the family from 4 until 8:00 P M Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
A very special thanks to the nurses and staff at New Harmonie Health Care who took such loving care of Mildred.
Mildred was a wonderful mother, mother in law, grandmother and friend. She will be surely missed by all.
