Rita “Holly” Ellard, age 55, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 of pancreatic cancer at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center.
Holly had worked as the Traffic Receiving Coordinator for Henry Fligeltaub Company for 35 years. She was a member of St. Philip Catholic church and a member of the Riverbend Association and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Riverbend Association. She enjoyed scrapbooking, camping and sitting out on her patio and just watching the lake. She loved her dog, Gunner, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and socializing with friends.
Surviving Holly are her husband of 27 years, Jesse Ellard, Jr., a daughter and son-in-law, Carly and Joel Werner of Evansville; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Jamie Ellard of Newburgh; her parents, Delmar and Peggie (Hape) Wigand of Evansville a sister and brother-in-law, Shelly and Bill Cundiff of Evansville; two brothers, Don Wigand and his wife, Bonnie of Christmas, FL and Brandon Wigand of Evansville and two grandchildren, Jakob and Sidney Ellard. Also surviving are a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lydia and James Hagedorn, Sr. of Evansville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brent and Carol Ellard of Newburgh; three nephews and their wives, Michael and Brienne Cundiff, Daniel and Libby Cundiff and James and Angela Hagedorn, Jr.; a niece, Kristle Logel and great nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jesse and Ruth Ellard, Sr.
Funeral services for Holly will be held at 9:30 A.M. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Tom Kessler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
