Obituary:
Oscar C. Kuester, age 96, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Pine Have Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Kuester was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, a life member of the Westside Nut Club and a past member of the Haymaker’s Club. Oscar was a farmer in Union Township until his retirement in 1981. Surviving Oscar are two daughters, Shirley McDowell of Evansville and Mary Bracey and her husband, Allen of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Frances Wehr of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Kay Burgess of Cary, NC, Lynn Stroud of Evansville, Ben Wanager of Savannah, GA and Luke Wanager of Statham, GA and four great grandsons. Oscar was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude (Eakins) Kuester, a sister, Mary Ann Blunk and three brothers, Paul, Eddie and Clyde Kuester. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Rev. David Nunning officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
