| Obituary: |
Linda Louise Goebel, age 67, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital. She was proud to be a 10 ½ year survivor of breast cancer.
Linda had been employed as a receptionist for over 30 years with South Central Communications. She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and active in Christ Renews His Parish at St. Philip and a founding member of SOLE.
Surviving Linda are her husband of 45 years, Ron Goebel; a daughter, Amy Foster of Evansville; two sons, Danny Goebel and his wife, Linda of Evansville and Jeff Goebel of Evansville; a brother and his wife, Tim and Susie Riordan of Evansville and sister-in-law, Darlene Rendl of Evansville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Victoria and Mitchell Foster and Aaron and Lori Chumbley and many nieces and nephews, including her niece Kristy Hironimus.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Estelle (Barthel) Riordan and a sister, Mary Ann Hironimus.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Tom Kessler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service held at 5:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 until service time on Wednesday at St. Philip church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 4424 Vogel Road, Evansville, IN 47715 or to St. Philip Catholic Church, 3500 S. St. Philip Road, Mt. Vernon, IN 47620.
