Edwin A. Englert, age 82, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, June 06, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital.
Mr. Englert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County. He had retired in 1987 after working 28 years as a truck driver.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Leona (Schapker) Englert; six daughters, Judy (Jerry) Knapp of St. Wendel, Nancy (David) Riedford on Poseyville, Peggy (Mike) Miller, Lisa (Mike) Paul, Kellie (James) Latham and Kim Englert (fiancé’, Randy Hertel), all of Evansville; three sons, Ronald (Debbie) Englert, Dennis (Shannon) Englert and Ed (Sue) Englert, all of Evansville. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Mr. Englert was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Adams, who passed away on May 18, 2010; his parents, Edwin and Mary (Richter) Englert; sisters, Doris Hollis, Theresa Hisch and Mary Agnes Hunt and brothers, Herb, Francis “Bud”, Bob and Harry Englert.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County, Rev. Gene Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service held at 4:00 P.M. Friends may also visit from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County or to Deaconess Hospice.
The family would like to thank Deaconess Hospice and Rev. Gene Schroeder for their care and concern during Mr. Englert’s illness.
