John C. Hahn, II, age 54, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital.
Mr. Hahn had worked as a journeyman machinist before becoming a salesman with Kight Home Improvement Center. He was a firefighter with the Perry Township Fire Department and also served as an EMT. He had worked as a volunteer for 10 years as Vanderburgh County Special Deputy. John was a 1973 graduate of Reitz High School where he played football and ran track. He was an avid golfer and shooter, a member of the Westside Sportsmen’s Club and a 20 year member of the Westside Nut Club. He was also a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ on Michigan Street.
Surviving are his two sons, John C. Hahn, III and his wife, Jenna and Michael Hahn, both of Evansville; his mother, Josephine Hahn of Evansville; his fiancée, Brenda Craig of Elberfeld and her two children, Jackie Craig and SSgt. Matt Craig, U.S. Army. Also surviving are his brother, Tony Schmitt of Evansville and three grandchildren, Wade, Macey and Madison Hahn.
Mr. Hahn was preceded in death by his father, John C. Hahn in 1994 and a sister, Nancy Lehman in 1978.
Funeral services for John will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Gene Backes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
