ARTHUR F. LOGEL Arthur F. Logel, 88, of Evansville, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Deaconess Hospital. Mr. Logel was a retired asbestos worker with Local #37 for over 50 years and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County for 46 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and a member of VFW Post #1114 and American Legion Eugene Pate Post #265. Art loved to fish and hunt and was an avid gardener, growing tomatoes that he gave away all over the city of Evansville. He was also an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. Art was a devoted husband to his wife of 47 years Bettye (Montgomery) Logel, and an excellent father to his children; daughters and their husbands, Pamela and Jerry Heidorn of Newburgh, IN, Donna and Terry McCoy of St. Philip, IN, Linda and Calvin Higginson and Jenny and Ray Tenhumberg of Evansville, three sons and their wives, Stephen and Judith Logel of Evansville, Stanley and Jacki Logel of Newburgh and Rock and Lisa Rebstock of Evansville. Also surviving are two brothers, Lawrence Logel and Daniel and his wife, Betty Logel of Evansville, thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren to whom he was a wonderful grandfather. Mr. Logel was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Marie (Vaught) Logel in 1950, five sisters, Mary, Ruth, Alberta, Teresa and Leona, and three brothers, Charles, Edward and Robert. Funeral services for Mr. Logel will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County, Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, with the Retired Veterans Memorial Club conducting military rites. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street where a memorial service will be held at 5:30 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until service time Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County.
