Lisa A. Ziliak

Lisa Ziliak, born January 15, 1990, passed suddenly on November 28, 2023 at her home in St. Louis, Missouri. Lisa was born to Thomas “Butch” and Jo Ann (Luigs) Ziliak in Evansville. Lisa was a 2008 graduate of FJ Reitz High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in nutrition. She then moved to Texas, where her sister lived, and received her Master’s Degree in Dietetics from Sam Houston State University. From Texas, Lisa moved to St. Louis where she was employed at Christian Hospital. Her coworkers there became her family away from home. At the age of 14, Lisa was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. She never let that stop her from doing the things she loved. In 2019, Lisa skydived over the Grand Canyon and she was planning her next adventure for her 20th anniversary next year. She was a faithful fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved spending time outdoors, walking in the woods and along the creek at home and bonfires. Lisa was an avid reader of books and made a habit of collecting rocks wherever she traveled. She loved to take care of the chickens when she was home. Surviving Lisa are her parents, Thomas “Butch” and Jo Ann Ziliak; brother, Jeremy (Christina) Ziliak; sisters, Leanne and Katie Ziliak and her beloved dog, Holli. She is also survived many aunts, uncles, cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Anton and Martha Luigs and Thomas and Hilda Ziliak and by her God father, Bill Goebel. We will miss her beyond what words can express, especially her humor, her sweet notes left around the house and her big good-bye hugs. We would like to thank Kandace and Breezy and their families for their friendship. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rev. Jerry Pratt officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 5:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:30 AM until service time on Monday at Resurrection Church, 5301 New Harmony Road.
