Allene C. Hisch

Allene C. (Elpers) Hisch, age 82, of St. Wendel, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center. Mrs. Hisch was born July 15, 1933 to the late Herman and Emma (Tenbarge) Elpers. Allene was a wonderful wife, mother and cook. After she had raised her children, Allene worked as the daytime cook for several places, such as, Dutch Corner and the Silver Bell. She finished her working career in the cafeteria of Holy Redeemer Catholic School. Allene was a lifelong member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality at the church and the St. Ann’s Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John at St. Wendel, where she was also a member of the Uniform Club. Surviving Allene are her husband of 62 years, Joseph L. Hisch; four daughters, Donna (Darryl) Schmitt and Janet (Wayne) Korff, both of Evansville, Rose (Fred) Fuhs of Ft. Branch and Jo Ann (Dennis) Monarch of Evansville a son, Joseph H. Hisch of St. Wendel; six sisters, Rita Hipp and Martina Angermeier, both of Evansville, Rose (Gilbert) Adler of Haubstadt, Hilda (Francis) Spahn of St. Wendel, Jane (Keith) Ward of Chandler and Emma Jean (Richard) Couture of Evansville; three brothers, Herman “Bud” (Sandra) Elpers of The Villages, FL, Paul (Sarah) Elpers and Dennis (Carol) Elpers, both of Evansville; twelve grandchildren, Kristina (Jeremy Hoesli) Korff, Joseph N. (Jessica) Hisch, Phillip (Jillian) Fuhs, Andrew (Kristin Briney) Schmitt, Allison (Brandon) Long, Jerry Hisch, Brian Monarch, Paul Fuhs, Michelle Korff, Adam (fiancée, Becca Putans) Schmitt, Amanda Monarch and Jennifer (fiancé, Curtis McGuire) Monarch and five great grandchildren, Logan Coultas, Emma Hisch, Joseph T. Hisch, Isabel Long and Harrison Schmitt. In addition to her parents, Allene was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Martin and Norma Hoffman. There will be a Mass of Christian burial held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Wendel Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 A.M. until mass time on Saturday at St. Wendel Catholic Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Bethel Manor Ivy Unit, Deaconess Hospital Unit 4500 and to the Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center and their staffs for the compassionate care given to Allene.
