Barbara T. Muensterman

Barbara Teresa (Moers) Muensterman, 86, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the West River Health Campus surrounded by her family. Barbara was born March 18, 1933 in Evansville to the late Leo and Florence (Schmitt) Moers. She, along with her husband Jim, owned and operated the Hilltop Inn from 1977 to 1999. Barbara was a graduate of St. Anthony Grade School, a 1951 graduate of Mater Dei High School, and an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, where she was a member of the St. Ann’s Altar Society. Barbara loved to sew; enjoyed playing clabber, bird watching and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving Barbara are three daughters, Rita (Tony) Skelton and Janet (Walter) Trautvetter, both of Evansville and Ruth (Bernie) Muller of Mt. Vernon, IN; a son, Larry (Beth) Muensterman of Evansville; sister, Dorothy Ann (Wade) Hendry of Gulfport, MS; grandchildren, Julie (James) Eubanks, Jill (Mike) Hurley, Elizabeth Skelton, Justin Skelton, Daniel (Kerri) Trautvetter, Kenneth Trautvetter, Scott (Jill) Muller and Michelle (Alex) Almon; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Muensterman and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jim Muensterman in 2007; by two daughters, Diane Muensterman in 1974 and Deborah Muensterman in 2000; sisters, Marylee Martin, Anna Mae Frank, Rose Marie Schuler, Monica Patry and Irene Moers, who died as a child and three brothers, Gerard, Charles, and Richard Moers. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. John Brosmer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at St. Boniface Church.
