Charles E. Hoehn

Charles E. Hoehn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away July 9, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family at Heart to Heart Hospice Center. Charlie was born on October 13, 1947, to the late John and Loretta (Wolf) Hoehn. After graduating from North Posey High School, he married his high school sweetheart and soulmate, Gale (Jessie) Hoehn. Charlie served in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1972. After working at GE in Mount Vernon for 36 years, he went on to own and operate Industrial Technical Support for over ten years with his “Over the Hill Gang”. After retirement, Charlie dedicated his life to the care of his property, gardening, tinkering with small projects in his shop, volunteering with Special Olympics, attending his grandchildren’s events, and spending time with his family. It was in his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that Charlie truly shone. His greatest pride and joy was being “Pop”. Charlie was at his happiest being productive and working, whether for himself or others. One of his greatest legacies is the work ethic instilled in his children and grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Loretta and John Hoehn, and sisters-in-law, Cindy Hoehn and Chris Hoehn. He is survived by his cherished wife, Gale (Jessie) Hoehn; his children, Jacquelyn (Paul) Maier; Shannon (George) Chew; Charlene (Andy) Baldwin; Jeff (Molly) Hoehn; his grandchildren, Margaret (Hank) Hasler; Cameron (Kennedy) Maier; Madeline Maier; Lauren (Jared) Camerlo; Samuel (fiancé Ali) Chew; Jackson (Sarah) Baldwin; Beau Baldwin; Charles Hoehn, Caity Hoehn, and Claire Hoehn; and his great-grandchildren; Reese Hasler and Easton Maier. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Carolyn (Mario) Bruni; Marie (Jerry) Spahn; Dennis (Chris-deceased) Hoehn; Francis (Debbie) Hoehn; Jeanette (Fred) Glover, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 13, at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, and from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 10 N. St. Francis Street, Poseyville. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 14, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating.
