Clarence B. Seib

Clarence B. Seib, 95, of rural Evansville, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Linda E. White Hospice House. Clarence was born December 31, 1923 in Evansville to the late George and Anna (Schmitt) Seib. He was a lifelong farmer and member of St. Wendel Catholic Church. Clarence was also the past president of the Knights of St. John at St. Wendel, a member of the Darmstadt Retirees, Armstrong Recreation Center, St. Wendel Athletic Club. He loved playing bingo, enjoyed playing clabber and poker, dancing, especially the waltz, gardening, woodworking, puzzles, watching football and WWE wrestling. Clarence also enjoyed music, playing his harmonica and the accordion, baking cookies and making Christmas candy; but more than anything he enjoyed his family being together. Surviving Clarence are two daughters, Linda (Dennis) Schmitt and Brenda (Nick) Winiger, both of Evansville; five sons, Leonard (Carol) Seib of Evansville, Ronald (Martha) Seib of Haubstadt, Kenneth (Sharon) Seib, Ralph Seib, and Ernest (Jane) Seib, all of Evansville; sixteen grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Seib, Kerri (Brian) Schu, Angela (Craig) Kaiser, Mark Seib, Kelly (Craig) Fehrenbacher, Tim Seib, Lisa (Dennis) Dillon, Janelle (Robert) Blake, Erica (Jeff) Gee, Chad (Sae La) Seib, Cory (Amber) Seib, Alan (Candice) Schmitt, Jason (Priscilla) Schmitt, Joshua (Shelby) Winiger, Brooke (Dustin) Haley and Emma Louise Winiger and thirty two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Dorothy (Schmitt) Seib in 2017; by two sisters, Cecilia Adler and Mary Wilderman; five brothers, Joseph, Albert, John, William and Clemons Seib; by a grandson, Michael Seib and by a grandson-in-law, John Baumholser. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 25, 2019 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Wendel Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at St. Wendel Catholic Church.
