Clinton Weis

Clinton Joseph Weis, 89 of Evansville, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Deaconess Hospice Care Center. Clinton had been employed at Servel for 13 years and the Sears Warehouse for twenty six years before his retirement in 1983. He was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church and a life member of VFW Post # 6576 at Wadesville. He served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice (Elpers) Weis; two daughters and their husbands, Cecelia and Randy Kuester of St. Joe and Wilma and Mike Bittner of Haubstadt; four sons and their wives, Anthony and Kathy Weis of St. Joe, Paul and Debby Weis of St. James, John and Patty Weis of Darmstadt and David and Susan Weis of St. Philip, a brother, Jim Weis and his wife, Sylvia of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Freeman Will and Rosalee and Harold Neumann, all of St. Wendel. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jason, Brian and Cara Kuester, Becca (Brett) Seib, Jessica (Aaron) Molin, Jacob (Kelley) Weis, Abby (Brandon) Frazer, Deidre and William Weis, Bryan (Megan) Bittner, Michelle, Melissa, David and Dana Bittner, Jacob, Joshua and Jared Weis, Alaina Halsey and Andrew, Anna, Aaron and Adeline Weis and great grandchildren, Cooper and Carter Seib, Diesel and Onyx Molin, Olivia Weis, Chloe Frazer and Reese Bittner. Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Matilda (Martin) Weis and a brother, Roman Weis. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by VFW Post #6576. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street where a memorial service will be conducted by the church at 4:00 P.M. Friends may also visit from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at St. Wendel Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Wendel Catholic Church or to Deaconess Hospice.
