Darrel Wilson

Darrel W. Wilson, age 51, of Camby, IN, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Deaconess Hospice Care Center. Mr. Wilson had worked as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Harrison College, the former Indiana Business College, since 1994 and prior to that as the sports editor of the Perry County News. Darrel was an avid sports fan, including the Indianapolis Colts, Reitz High School Panthers and Butler Bulldogs. As a young man, he attended the Evansville United Christian Fellowship Church, where he lead youth group meetings and played several musical instruments, including the trumpet, French horn and baritone, as a young man. Darrel was a bible scholar and loved reading. Education was very important to Darrel; he was a 1978 graduate of Reitz High School and received his Associates Degree in Professional Accounting from the Indiana Business College in 1998 and his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Northwood University in 2000. He was loved by everyone and had a wonderful sense of humor. Surviving Darrel are his daughter, Kristen Wilson of Camby, IN; son, Bradley Wilson of Camby, IN; his mother, Dorothy (Uzzle) Wilson; sister, Connie Ethridge and her husband, John of Evansville; brother, Dennis Wilson of Evansville; a grandson, Gabriel Sayer and special friend, Debbie Howard and her family. Also surviving are a niece, Julie Howard; nephews, Joshua Wilson, John Ethridge, II, Deven, Dhezmond and Dawson Garrett; an aunt, Farrel Kemble; an uncle, Perry Uzzle and many cousins. Preceding Mr. Wilson in death are his father, Raymond A. Wilson; an uncle, Samuel Kemble and sister-in-law, Robin S. Wilson. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Evansville United Christian Fellowship Church, 1708 Fuquay Road, Rev. Roger Willis officiating. There will be a dinner held immediately following the service for family and friends to continue celebrating Darrel’s life. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Darrel W.
