Donna C. (Winiger) Alsop Donna C. (Winiger) Alsop, 71, of Astor, FL formerly of Evansville, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, June 6, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Hospice Center, Indianapolis, IN after a short illness. She was born February 19, 1942, in Evansville, IN to Vincent and Cecilia Winiger. She was a graduate of Mater Dei High School and University of Southern Indiana. Donna was a CPA licensed in Florida and Indiana. She owned and operated an accounting firm in Astor, FL specializing in taxation and accounting services. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Alsop; her mother, Cecilia Winiger of Evansville, IN and three daughters, Laura (Tony) Douglas of Corona, CA, Patty (Rob) Montgomery of Evansville, IN and Ellen (David) Fleig of Carmel, IN. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Samantha and Cameron Montgomery, Katie and Jackson Fleig, her brother, Malcolm Winiger of Evansville; sister, Linda Thomasson of Chattanooga, TN; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Vincent and three brothers, Jerry, William and Robert Winiger. Donna was active in community affairs in Astor, FL being twice president of the Astor Kiwanis Club. She devoted her spare time to the community of Astor and the children in elementary schools and high schools in Lake County, FL. She was dearly loved by all of her colleagues and acquaintances in Astor and Daytona Beach, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County, Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 5:00 P.M., on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Monday at St. Joseph Church.
