Doris J. Froelich

This is the hardest thing we’ve ever had to do. Our mom, Doris June (Grammer) Froelich, left this life to live an eternal life with God on August 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the West River Health Campus. Left behind are three children, Linda (Rick) Roos, Lesa Froelich and Mark (Tamara) Froelich; her loving sister, Betty Southwood; two grandchildren, Sara (Phil) Fettinger and Jill Miller; five great grandchildren, Kelcee, Kyle, Blake, Jacob and Abigail and one great great granddaughter, Paityn. She will also be missed by her three nieces, Candy (Jack), Delaine (Brian) and Jane (Joe) and their families and a cousin, Phil (Janet) Grammer and his family. Mother was a loving woman and loved by so many, we had to share her with everyone she knew, but she had enough love to go around. She would say she always needed a purpose every morning when she woke up, whether it was cooking, sewing, crafting or just listening to others. Mother accomplished many jobs in her lifetime, too many to mention, but the one she was most proud of was being a mother, sister, grandparent, great grandparent, great great grandparent, aunt and friend. Her legacy to us is her undying love and affection to all those who were lucky to have known our beautiful mom, inside and out. She was 96 years young and the daughter of the late Maurice and Ailean (Cunningham) Grammer. She was born on January 25, 1922. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the oldest member of a 4-H club named Perry Heights and created many unique gifts for her members. She loved life, music, playing the accordion and was a wonderful seamstress. What gave her more pleasure was to finagle something to make a project work. Private funeral services and burial were held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Doris’ family would love to thank the wonderful, caring and loving staff at West River Health Campus. They made us all feel like family and truly loved our mom. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Kindred Hospice and their staff for their care and dedication to mom and her family.
