Dorothy Boots

Dorothy Jane (Wagner) Boots, age 87, of Evansville, passed away, Oct. 1, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital. Mrs. Boots was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, the Resurrection Ladies Club, Prayer Chain, and Mater Dei Wrestling Club. She supported Mater Dei High School through the Ira J and Dorothy Jane Boots Endowment. The four loves in her life were: the Catholic Faith, her family, her country, and Mater Dei High School. She loved her faith and support of the Catholic Church. Family was the center of her world-her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought love and excitement to her life. She lived an example of patriotism, she loved her country. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Ed) Maier,Theresa Helfrich, Tina (Joseph) Wright and Bridget (Randy) Dickerson; her sons, Larry (Ginger) Boots, Ira Gerard (Terry) Boots, Tim (Theo) Boots and Vincent (Kathy) Boots, all of Evansville. Also surviving Dorothy is her sister, Ruth Wilhite of Evansville, her twenty one grandchildren, Larry Boots, Natalie Weis, Heather Hertel, Angela Mulherin, Ingrid Stratman, Lelia Johnson, Mary Gunterman, Andrea Baumann, Brandon Boots, Rachel Wright, Megan Wright, Nathan Wright, Hannah Boots, Joshua Boots, Bernie Boots, Michael Boots, Katie Boots, Matt Dickerson, Brianna Dickerson, Mariah Dickerson, Halle Dickerson, along with twenty three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Boots; two sons, David Bruce Boots and Lanny Frank Boots; her son in law, William Helfrich, sisters, Rose Sitzman, Clara Davidson, Ellen Niemeier and brothers, Russell Wagner, Elmer Lance and Ray Wagner. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 A.M. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rev. Phil Kreilein officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W Franklin Street, where a memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Mater Dei High School c/o Ira J and Dorothy Jane Boots Family Endowment, 1300 Harmony Way, Evansville, IN 47720 or to Resurrection Catholic Church, 5301 New Harmony Road, Evansville, IN 47720.
