Eleanor Viola Klenck

Eleanor V. (Meier) Klenck, age 81, of Mt. Vernon, went peacefully to heaven surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, April 02, 2016 at the Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center. Eleanor was born November 20, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, IN to the late Henry and Frieda (Schroeder) Meier. Eleanor graduated from Schroeder Grade School and Wadesville High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerome “Jerry” Klenck on August 18, 1956. They celebrated 59 years of marriage together. Eleanor enjoyed being with her family, spending many hours with her grandchildren. She loved being outside, gardening, music, quilting and taking trips with family and friends. Eleanor was a devoted, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active member of Zion Lippe United Church of Christ. Surviving Eleanor are her husband, Jerry Klenck; a daughter, Diane (Larry) Jones; son, Robert “Bob” (Julie) Klenck; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Dossett, Laura Gentry, Michael Klenck, Barbara Ann Klenck and James Klenck; a step grandchild, Seth Jones and great grandchildren, Ella Dossett, Kellan Gentry and Parker Dossett. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Ruby Reitman, niece, Judy (Don) Cox; nephew, Tom (Trisha) Reitman; great nieces, great nephews and many cousins. The Klenck family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. They would also like to thank the staff of both Deaconess Hospital ICU and the Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center. Funeral services for Eleanor will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Zion Lippe United Church of Christ, 9000 E. Copperline Road, Mt. Vernon, IN, Rev. Jeff Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Lippe Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W.
