James R. Muensterman

James Raymond Muensterman, 74, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Deaconess Hospital. Jim, along with his wife, owned and operated Hilltop Inn from 1977 through 1999. He had previously worked as a bricklayer for 24 years and was a life member of International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. Jim was a 1951 graduate of Mater Dei High School. He was a life-long member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was an honorary life member of the Retired Veterans Memorial Club of Vanderburgh County. He was a past member of Westside Catholic School Board and Booster Club. He was a charter member of Twin Towers, Inc. and a member of Evansville Athletic Club and the American Legion. Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara (Moers) whom he married on September 27, 1952 and their children, Larry Muensterman and his wife, Beth (Wagner), Rita Skelton and her husband, Tony, Janet Trautvetter and her husband, Walter, all of Evansville and Ruth Muller and her husband, Bernie, of Mt. Vernon, IN. and eight grandchildren, Julie (James) Eubanks of Marietta, GA, Jill (Mike) Hurley, Daniel Trautvetter and Kerri Kirk, Kenneth Trautvetter and Justin Skelton, all of Evansville, Elizabeth ( Chris) Chance of Louisville, KY, Scott (Jill) Muller and Michelle Muller, all of Mt. Vernon, IN. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Taylor and Jaiden Trautvetter, Charlotte Eubanks and Collin Hurley, his sister, Doris Tekoppel (the late John Tekoppel) and his brother Cletus (Rosemary) Muensterman, all of Evansville. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Deborah S. Muensterman in 2000 and Diane M. Muensterman in 1974 and his parents, Aurelia (Hoefling) and F. Joseph Muensterman. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. Kenneth Herr officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Friends may visit with the family 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:30 A.M. until service time Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church.
