Lucille R. Schenk

Lucille Rose (Wolf) Schenk, age 88, of rural Evansville, passed away Wednesday, February 03, 2016 at her home. Lucille was born February 19, 1927 in Posey County, IN to the late Edward and Carolina (Brenner) Wolf. She was a homemaker, worked at Mead Johnson in the cafeteria, cleaned houses, sold AVON and was a seamstress. She enjoyed quilting and made quilts for every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her close family and friends. Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Bruce) Wheeler; three sons, Steve (Sheila Wheeler) Schenk, Bob (Patty Barnhart) Schenk and Urban L. (Rhonda Wildemann) Schenk; one sister, Delores (Wolf) Coomes; eleven grandchildren, Joseph Schenk, John Schenk, Ed Schenk, Sam (Nicole) Schenk, Mat (Ashley) Schenk, Dan (Aimee) Schenk, Andy (Jessica) Schenk, Tom Schenk, Paul (Brandi) Wheeler, Stephanie (Dillon Daniels) Wheeler and Heather (Andrew) Allen; great grandchildren, Tucker Schenk, Sydney Schenk, Hunter Schenk, Ella Schenk, Fischer Schenk, Kaitlyn Schenk, Haylee Schenk, Jack Wheeler, Emma Word, Avery Word and Hayden Daniels and a sister-in-law, Mercedes Schenk Spellmeyer. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Urban G. Schenk in 2010 and by siblings, Linus, Raymond and Sylvester Wolf, Loretta Hoehn and Mary Ann Berfanger. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Claude Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Philip Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 6:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Friday at St. Philip Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Philip Catholic Church, 3500 S.
