Mary Louise Bebout

Mary Louise (Fahrholz) Bebout, 89, formerly of Evansville, died Friday, August 25, 2006 at Hospice of the Valley, Friendship Village in Tempe, Arizona. Mary Louise was born January 31, 1917 to Lorene (Brandley) and Harry Fahrholz. Mary Louise was a 1934 graduate of Central High School and was a life member of VFW Post # 1114 Ladies Auxiliary. During the 1937 flood, Mary Louise served as a switchboard operator located in the Evansville Coliseum. She was taken to and from the Coliseum by boat. She was later employed at Republic Aviation and the Evansville Shipyard. She subsequently worked as a secretary for various legal offices and oil companies. In 1956, Mary Louise moved to Phoenix and worked as a secretary at AirResearch. She returned to Evansville in 1982 and lived at Grandview Towers. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and taking Florida trips with the Riverbend group. In 1993, she once again returned to “warm” climate. From Phoenix she took cruises to Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii with her daughters, Sharon and Judy. She still returned to Evansville to visit family and friends and to attend several of her Central High School class reunions including her 50th and 69th. Mary Louise last visited here in her hometown for four months in 2005. Mary Louise is survived by her daughter and her family, Sharon (Bill G.) Perkins of Evansville, Laurie Perkins (George) Franks of Lorida, FL, Jeremy Daniel Burns and Matthew Sparrow of Evansville; Julie Perkins (Matthew) Volkman, Austin, Addison Daniel and Ansley, of Evansville; Kristie Perkins, William Hamilton and Luke Daniel Isom of Evansville; daughter and her family, Judy Trammell of Tempe, AZ, Ryan (Angel) Trammell, Aaron and Tessla of Detroit, MI; Daniel Trammell, Samantha and Anna of Scottsdale, AZ; granddaughters, Sherry Cottingham (Bob) Wagner of Gentryville, IN; Karen Cottingham (Jeff) Fisher, Amanda and Sean of Jasper, IN; a sister, Shirley Fahrholz (Duke) Kelsie of Evansville, special cousins, Marie Dauble Conner Witherspoon and Elizabeth Fahrholz Ohning of Evansville; close friend and neighbor, Sally Kessler of Scottsdale, AZ and many nieces and nephews. Mary Louise was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Martin Perkins in December, 1979 at the age of 22; great grandson, Jacob Wagner, brothers, Raymond Fahrholz and Robert Fahrholz, sisters, Audrey Herrli, Gloria Weber, Beverly Alvey and a son, Charles R. Cottingham. We believe Mary Louise has now gone to join her family and friends who left before her and are now waiting for her to bring the sauerkraut and her Germania Maennerchor stein so the meal and good times may begin again. We just hope that someday we are able to join the big reunion with our loved ones.
