Oliver Case Wallace

Oliver Case Wallace, age 11, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Oliver was a loving, kind and gentle soul. He is the light of his families’ lives and impacted so many people around him with his thoughtfulness. Oliver was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County, where he was currently in the 5th grade. He served in Mass and was genuinely loved by his teachers and lunch ladies. He was a straight A student and loved to read. He was a member of the House of Peace at St. Joseph School and a role model through his Christian leadership. Oliver was a member of 4-H, the Livestock Club and Tractor Club. He never met a stranger and cared deeply about all of his friends, whether they were through school, 4-H or other parts of his life. Oliver enjoyed boating, camping, hunting and everyday was a good day to go fishing. He competed in archery and recently scored his highest score at Nationals. Oliver enjoyed playing his Nintendo Switch and backyard sports with his cousins; loved his dogs, Ellie and Blue, snuggling while watching Western movies and he loved to love on his sisters. More than anything Oliver loved turkey and grain farming with his dad. He enjoyed dairy farming with his friend Terry, spending the day in the sprayer with his friend Derek, working in the shop, running machinery and taking things apart to see how they worked so he could put them back together. Oliver’s favorite color was John Deere green. Surviving Oliver are his parents, Christopher and Jessica (King) Wallace; sisters, Kylie and Etta, who he shared an inseparable bond with; grandparents, John and Cheri King and Carol and Tony Orth; aunts, uncles and cousins, Brad, Paige and Wil Wallace, “Uncle” Craig, Trisha, Carson, Bennett and Lexa Neidig, Nolan, Krissy and Ian King, Aimee, Ryan, Bailey, Tucker and Cooper Farthing, Jennifer, Corey, Carleigh and Casey Schmitt, Brandon, Rachel, Malaki and Kaylie Petersen, Sarah and Reese Nurnberger. Oliver was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steven Wallace. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, 2024, Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6202 W. St. Joseph Road.
