Richard L. Hartmann

Richard L. “Dick” Hartmann, 88, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at his son Dan’s residence. Dick was born February 17, 1932 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Arthur and Cecelia Rollett Hartmann. He retired in 1994 from Deig Brothers Construction Company as an estimator after thirty-five years. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the R-Mens Club at F. J. Reitz High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War and was able to go on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in 2017. Dick and Georgia were able to travel to over 30 countries. He loved woodworking, playing clabber, and collecting antique guns, coins and tools. He also enjoyed being at the lake and boating with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Georgia (Hester) Hartmann, two sons, Dale E. (Kim) Hartmann and Daniel J. Hartmann; three daughters, Mary Anne (Keith) Feller, Sara Hatfield and Jeanne (John) Dewig all of Evansville; one sister, Bernadette Ferguson and two brothers, Donald H. (Rita) Hartmann, all of Evansville and David A. (Cathy) Hartmann of Falls Church, VA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Chris Huff, Jeremy (Sarah) Huff, Scott (Hannah) Hartmann, Mike Hartmann, Jill (Jay) Beunte, Nick, Samantha and Shelby Dewig, Mindy Walls, Christina (Jonathon) Tobin, and Keith Feller, Jr., nine great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Michelle, Terri Stafford and Katie on the West Nursing Unit at Solarbron for taking such good care of our husband and dad. Funeral services will be on Thursday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. The family has asked that everyone visiting them during this time please wear a mask and observe social distancing. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions made to made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the R-Mens Scholarship Fund, and Linda White Hospice House.
