Robert L Seibert

Robert L. Seibert, age 83, of Evansville passed away suddenly Sunday, January 3, 2016 at his home. Bob was born May 7, 1932 in Evansville to the late Urban and Vera (Hoefling) Seibert. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a life member of the Riverbend Association. He was a graduate of Mater Dei High School and along with his brothers, was one of the first members of the Mater Dei wrestling program. Bob’s son, Garren, was a member of the first Mater Dei State Championship team in 1986 and many of his grandsons followed in his wrestling footsteps. After high school, Bob served in the United States Navy. He returned from the U.S. Navy and owned several businesses starting with the Copy Bar and AA Roofing. For over 35 years, Bob has owned and operated Foxx Pools. Surviving Bob are his wife of 50 years, Mary (McCool) Seibert; a son, Garren (Donna Martin) Seibert, stepdaughters, Diane (Greg) Matt and Patti (Chris) Will; a stepson, Joe (Kim) Rollett and daughter-in-law, Kim Rollett, all of Evansville; grandchildren, Ryan, Andy and Katelyn Matt, Alex, Drew and Bryan Will, Kyle and Kristine Rollett, Ashley (Sam) Nunning, Logan Scheutz, Jessica and Jeffrey Fentress, Michael and Madison Rollett and Brant Seibert and a great granddaughter, Berkley Nunning. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his stepson, David Rollett, a grandson, Benjamin Rollett and by siblings, Mary Glick, Urban Seibert, Jim Seibert and Patricia Bengert. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Rev. Claude Burns officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 5:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Thursday at Corpus Christi Church.
