Warren Papenmeier

Warren Lee “Pappy” Papenmeier of Wadesville, In passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009 surrounded by family at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Warren, the son of Arthur and Edna (Huff) Papenmeier, was born on February 25, 1931 in Wadesville, IN. Warren was united in marriage to Barbara Beasley on July 12, 1952 at Camp Carson Hospital Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO. Together they shared over 56 years of marriage. Warren worked for Kent Plastics for 33 years as a Production Supervisor and retired from Guardian Industries as a Time and Method Engineer after 10 years. Warren served in the United States Army as a medic for two years. Warren was a Christian and a member of Memorial Baptist Church on Marx Road, where he was a Deacon and former Chairman of Deacons. Warren also served on the Finance Committee and was the Sunday School Superintendent. Warren lettered in baseball and basketball all four years of high school. He loved IU basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals, often attending games with his family. He enjoyed playing golf with his son, daughters and grandsons. His church family and work for the Lord was very important to him. He had a special love for young people. All those he knew and loved will miss him. Warren is survived by his wife, Barbara (Beasley) Papenmeier; two daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Keith Meredith of Sullivan, IN and Joanie and Gordie Simmons of Wadesville, IN; one son and his wife, Warren, Jr. and Mary Toelle Papenmeier of St. Philip, IN and a brother and his wife, Robert and Helen Papenmeier of Wadesville, IN. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jason and Carrie Breeze, Carrie and Frank Moorman, Ben, Brandt, and Jonathan Meredith, Christian Papenmeier, Ryan and Stefanie Simmons, Justin Simmons and his fiancé’, Sara Todd and great grandchildren, Kady Breeze, Gabby and Connor Moorman and Noah Simmons. Funeral services for Warren will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Memorial Baptist Church, 7810 Marx Road, Evansville, IN 47712, Revs. Paul Wellinghoff and Robert Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, where there will be military rites. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Baptist Church, 7810 Marx Road, Evansville, IN 47712 or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
