Bettye J. Logel

January 16, 1926 - April 25, 2022

Bettye J. Logel, 96, of Evansville, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 at Park Terrace Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Bettye was born January 16, 1926 in Sommerville, IN to the late Lawrence and Elsie (McNeely) Montgomery. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County and the VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to working at home, Bettye worked at the Amber Inn, George Koch and Sons and later at the St. Wendel Winery. Surviving Bettye are four daughters, Pamela (Jerry) Heidorn, Donna (Terry) McCoy, Linda (Calvin) Higginson and Jenny (Ray) Tenhumberg; one son, Rock (Lisa) Rebstock; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bettye was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Arthur Logel in 2007; by her stepmother, Helen Montgomery; by two sisters, Dorothy Lacer and Mildred Templeton and three infant sisters. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 2, 2022 at St. Joseph Church in Vanderburgh County, Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Evansville. Friends may visit with family from 1:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:30 AM until service time on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of both Park Terrace Nursing Home and Southern Care Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
