Bonnie B. Elpers, 80, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at Premier Healthcare of New Harmony. Bonnie was born June 14, 1940 in Cynthiana, IN to the late William and Dorothy (Garver) Mounts. She was a long-time member of St. Wendel Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, clabber, cooking and dancing with her husband Darvin. Surviving Bonnie are four daughters, Carol Lupfer, Jacqueline (Jim) Oing, Debra (Chris) Bender and Christine (Kelly) Crowder; two sons, John (Lori) Elpers and Michael (Kelly) Elpers and two brothers, David Mounts and Richard Mounts. Also surviving Bonnie are sixteen grandchildren, Braden Lupfer, Adam, Tyler and Jace Elpers, Blake, Tanner and Reed Oing, Alex, Austin, Ross and Camden Bender, Courtney Bittner, Kendall Crowder, Addison, Avery and Ashton Elpers and two great grandchildren, Brock and Gabby Bender. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Darvin Elpers on December 21, 2020; by a twin sister, Connie Lockyear; sister, Greta Mounts and by two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Mounts. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. The funeral Mass will be live streamed on St. Wendel Catholic Church’s Facebook page. Burial will follow in St. Wendel Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at St. Wendel Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Deaconess Hospice or to the Posey County Relay for Life.
