Connie L. Tenbarge

December 11, 1933 - June 14, 2020

Connie L. (Elpers) Tenbarge, 86, of Haubstadt, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born December 11, 1933 in Evansville to the late Anthony C. and Esther M. (Halbig) Elpers. She worked as a waitress at the Log Inn for many years, at the Cynthiana Nursing Home and alongside her husband Jim at Tenbarge Lawn Mowing Service. Connie was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, where she served on the Altar Society as well as on the bereavement team helping prepare meals. Surviving Connie are daughters, Jane (Dennis) Barrett of Princeton and Michele (Kenny) Will of Evansville; sons, Ron (Jamie) Tenbarge and Randy (Jan) Tenbarge, both of Haubstadt and James D. (Lori) Tenbarge of Indianapolis; two sisters, Darlene Straub of Evansville and Diane Wassmer of Haubstadt; two brothers, Wayne (Terri) Elpers of Evansville and Richard (Diane) Elpers of Plano, TX; fifteen grandchildren, Kimberly (Brad) Peterson, Lindsey (Jacob) Dilbeck, Rachel (Mark) Thompson, Jessica (Aaron) Neufelder, Chris (Tami) Tenbarge, Carrie (Kurt) Williamson, Courtney (Kyle Hoelscher) Tenbarge, Christa (Brooks Martin) Tenbarge, April (Michael) Cooper, Ashley (Derek) Hart, Austin (Lexi) Will, Alexis (Ryan) Ford, Nick Tenbarge, Maddi Tenbarge and Chelsea Tenbarge and eighteen great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James A. Tenbarge, in 2019 and by a brother, Steven Elpers. There will be a private Mass of Christian Burial held at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, Rev. Kenneth Betz officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
