Dawnelle Cherie Neighbors

Dawnelle Cherie Neighbors, 65, of Newburgh, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital. Dawnelle was born December 8, 1956 in Evansville to the late Joseph and Vernell (Varner) Pry. She worked as an administrative assistant at Mater Dei High School for many years; for 23 years at St. Vincent Ascension Health Care and later at the Wellness Center. Dawnelle was very generous with her time and talent and a servant to so many. She was a devoted volunteer to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and sang in the choir at St. Anthony Church where she was a member and also in the Germania Damenchor. Surviving Dawnelle are her husband of 22 years, Herb Neighbors; daughter, Angelica (Gabe) Rexing; sons, Nicholas Gollnick and Joshua Gollnick; sister, Cora Ritchie; brothers, David (Mary) Pry and Eric (Patty) Pry and grandchildren, Gabriel and Sierra Samuel. Also surviving Dawnelle are her stepchildren, Dawn (Troy) Coker, Mark (Michelle) Neighbors and Bryan (Brandi) Neighbors. In addition to her parents Dawnelle was preceded in death by two sisters, Luann Stucke and Darla Smith. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Rev. Theodore Tempel officiating.
