Delores L. Helm

May 8, 1925 - May 25, 2021

Delores L. Helm, 96, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Heritage Center. Delores was born May 8, 1925 in Evansville to the late Howard and Edna (Hare) Hatfield. She had worked at Sears in downtown Evansville and also at Servel during World War II. Delores was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and volunteered as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Delores was also a life time member of the Owls, Riverbend Association, Germania Maennerchor and VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving Delores are two daughters, Billie (Larry) White and Karen Ham; two sons, Roger Helm and Alan (Norma) Helm; sister, Sandra Ward; grandchildren, Larry White, Jr., Seth Ham, Beth Bivens, Gabrielle Ham, Tina Winters, Preston Helm, Mathew Helm and Katie Frey; thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Helm in 1991; by sisters, Dorothy Barfield and Mary Hahn; brothers, Howard Hatfield, Gary Hatfield and Marion Hatfield and by grandchildren, Rance Ham and Micah Ham. Funeral services for Delores will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, Rev. John Brosmer officiating. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home. Delores’ family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of both the Heritage Center and Heritage Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
