Dorothy M. Felty

Dorothy M. Felty, 88 of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, December 6, 2020. She is having a reunion now in heaven with family she dearly loved who went before her. Dorothy loved spending time with family. She had so many friends she considered family. She never hesitated to tell you what she thought and loved to hear what was going on in your life. She especially enjoyed visits from children in her family. Dorothy loved to travel in her younger days, she also loved dancing, boating, playing cards, her puppy dogs and Bingo. Dorothy was a 1950 graduate of FJ Reitz High School, she waitressed at Parkway Restaurant prior to beginning her career with AT&T (Indiana Bell) where she retired from in 1989 after 40 years of service. During the Korean War for six months, she was a telephone operator at Camp Atterbury, a military training base. She lived on base and helped soldiers call their families at home. In 1979 she married Albert Felty and they were married 24 years until his death in 2003. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William S. and Eva Dartt, her brother, William H. “Chuck” Dartt, step-daughter Dana Raibley, and most recently her sister-in-law, Virginia Dartt on November 28, 2020. She is survived by nephew, Dale (Ladonna) Dartt, nieces, Connie (Ron) Romain and Vicki (Randy) Breivogel, step-daughters, Donna Felty and Denise Felty, great nephews, Jeff (Katie Sebahar) Romain, Kevin (Amanda) Dartt, Joshua Breivogel, and Timothy Breivogel, great nieces, Amy (Josh) Barron and April (Lee) Johnson, step-grandsons, Scott (Lindsey) Felty, Michael Felty and Kyle Felty, Kyle Jones, Marshal (Tara) Raibley, Jennifer Rogers, and Bradley Keeling. She also has several great-great nieces, step-great grandchildren and a step-great-great grandson. For the last three years Dorothy’s home has been Solarbron Terrace which she loved. Dorothy’s family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff at Solarbron Terrace and most recently Heart to Heart Hospice Service for the loving compassionate care of our loved one. Funeral services held at Pierre Funeral Home for Dorothy Felty will be private. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
