James E. Arnold

September 3, 1958 - January 5, 2021

James E. Arnold, 62, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Jim was a wonderful and loving husband, father, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all. He retired from GE/Sabic in 2010 after working as a shift leader. He was a 1976 graduate of FJ Reitz High School and an avid Reitz football and Colts football fan. He enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, spot shoots, horse racing and loved to cook. Jim also loved his pets, Black Jack, MieMie, Roscoe, Pablo and Lily’s Baby Girl. Surviving Jim are his wife of 13 years, Dawn Arnold; three daughters, Winter Nelson, Silver Nelson and Lilian (Kenneth White) Nelson; three half-sisters, Ruby Hinderliter, Pat Ashby and Priscilla (Tim) Clements; a half-brother, Dale (Marie) Arnold; mother-in-law, Phyllis Ridenour, sister-in-law, Myra (James) Brock; brother-in-law, Larry Joe (Kay) Ridenour; several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Ellis and Ethel Arnold; his biological mother, Ruth Alice Mitz and four half-brothers, Charles Wayne Mitz, Jr., Paul Carroll, Kenny Arnold and Charlie Arnold. The family would like to thank AseraCare Hospice and staff for their kind and compassionate care. There will be a celebration of Jim’s life held at a later date.
