Janie Marie Duke Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Our beautiful, fun-loving, Janie Marie Duke, 24 years young, left to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Janie was born in Evansville on December 15, 1997 to Phillip Duke and Emily Payne. Janie attended North High School. She was currently employed at McDonald’s on Main Street, where she made many friends and enjoyed working. Janie was taken from us way to soon, she would light up any room as soon as she entered. Her vibrant, free-spirit, beautiful smile and sense of humor could make anyone’s day in an instant. She loved spending time with her family, friends and her three children, whom she absolutely adored. Janie always wanted to be surrounded by family and was a very caring soul. If someone needed help, she would be the first to offer whatever she had. Janie will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Surviving Janie are her three sons, Lucas, Benjamin and Elijah; her mother, Emily Payne; parents, Phillip and Misty Duke; brothers, Josiah Duke, Nathan Hunter, Jourdan Allega, Joshua Holtzclaw and Justin Payne. Janie had several close cousins, aunts and uncles. Also surviving are a special aunt and uncle, Shelly and Zach Duggins and their family; step grandparents, Victor and Tamra Burdick and her maternal grandfather, Ralph and Donna Payne. Janie was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Jane Payne; uncle, Justin “JP” Payne, paternal grandparents, June Duke, Chuck and Nancy Duke, special great grandmother, Estel Duncan and great uncle, Donnie Payne. Funeral services for Janie will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 PM until service time on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W.
