Kelley Ray Lawrence

Kelley Ray “Big Boy” Lawrence, 73, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2020 after a long battle with Covid-19; his wife Donna and daughter, Angela by his side. Kelley was a 1965 graduate of FJ Reitz High School and a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He loved the Lord and was true to his faith. He was a passionate supporter of the Armed Services; was a member of VFW Post #1114 Auxiliary and American Legion Funkhouser Post 8. Kelley was also a life member of the Riverbend Association, Twin Towers and the Small Craft Boat Club; he was the past commodore of the OBC. When Kelley entered the room everyone knew he was there. He never met a stranger. Kelley was preceded in death by his son Michael; sister, Cheryl Carlisle and parents, Clifford and Ruth Lawrence. Along with his wife of 51 years, Donna; Kelley is survived by a daughter, Angela (Lori) Lawrence-Hayes; daughter-in-law, Mindy Sturgeon Gaffney; six grandchildren, Caplin, Riley, Luke and Maysa Lawrence and Storm and Talon Tucker and five great grandchildren, Keagan, Caius, Aidan, Olivia and Noah Tucker. Due to the pandemic, visitation and funeral services at Trinity Lutheran Church will be private. Those wishing to attend may join the family for the graveside committal services at Lutheran Cemetery at approximately 2:00 PM on Friday, November 20, 2020. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Vincent ICU for their tireless dedication.
