Leona M. Will

August 29, 1929 - August 8, 2020

Leona M. Will, 90, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Deaconess Hospital Midtown Campus. Leona was born August 29, 1929 in Evansville to the late Edward and Theresa (Elpers) Baehl. She worked for many years as a waitress at Bockelman’s, the St. Joe Inn and Dutch Korner. Leona was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John at St. Wendel. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing clabber, quilting and watching game shows. Surviving Leona are three daughters, Cindy (Mike) Kemmerling, Nancy Schaefer and Kelly (Eddie) Kiesel; two sons, Kenny (Patsy) Will and Rodney (Brenda) Will; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Wilfred B. Will in 1983, by a son, Larry Will; by two brothers, Clarence and Urban Baehl and by two grandchildren, Melanie Will and Jason Will. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur and Rev. Jason Gries officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Wendel Church cemetery. Pierre Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until the service time on Tuesday at St. Wendel Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Road, Evansville, IN 47710. Condolences may be made online at www.pierrefuneralhome.com.
