Mary Elizabeth Brenner

October 20, 1942 - June 16, 2022

Mary Elizabeth Brenner, 79, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 at her home. Mary was born October 20, 1942 in Evansville to the late John and Lillian (Schenk) Helmer. She was a homemaker and a devoted member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where she was inducted into the Brute` Society of the Diocese of Evansville in 2021 for her service to the church. Mary dedicated her time to her family, church and community. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Norbert Brenner; daughters, Anna Marie (Mark) Allen, Julia Rose (Michael) Coakley and Ellen Sue Haefling; two sons, Stephen John (Dana) Brenner and Michael Paul (Shannon) Brenner; one sister, Sr. Madonna Helmer, OSB; thirteen grandchildren, Tony Allen, Heather (Ed) Schenk, Aubrie, Mitchell and Aaron Coakley, Patricia and Nicholas Brenner, Jonathan, Timothy and Joshua Brenner, Emma, Samantha and Aidan Haefling and a great grandson, Henry Schenk. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Forman and by a brother, John Helmer. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. Raymond Brenner and Rev. John Brosmer officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W.
