Patrick Joseph Schmitt, 67, of Henderson, KY passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his home. Pat was born June 16, 1953 in Evansville to the late Raymond and Lucy (Weinzapfel) Schmitt. He had worked at Cargill grain elevator, as a driver for Koester Dairy and also as a janitor at St. Benedict Church. Pat was a longtime member of St. Wendel and was very strong in his Catholic faith. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving from 1972 to 1975 and enjoyed playing clabber. Surviving Pat are two sisters, Theresa (Fred Ott) Schmitt and Agnes (Henry) Reidford; three brothers, Leonard (Susan) Schmitt, Ralph (Carol) Schmitt and Carl Schmitt as well as many nieces and nephews. Due to the pandemic, visitation and the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Wendel Catholic Church will be private. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Wendel Church Cemetery. The Mass of Christian Burial will be live streamed beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 on St. Wendel Catholic Church's Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Wendel Catholic Church, 10542 W.
