Roberta Jean Jourdan

March 26, 1938 - April 22, 2020

Roberta Jean “Bobbie Jean” Jourdan, 82, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Deaconess Hospital Midtown Campus. Bobbie Jean was born March 26, 1938 in Cairo, IL to the late Robert and Ethel (Volner) Deckard. She worked as a Juvenile Court Reporter in Vanderburgh County for over 40 years before retiring. She enjoyed working with Robert Pigman, Judge Lensing, and Judge Niemeier. She loved her job and all the people in the court system. There wasn’t anyone she didn’t know in the system or that she couldn’t call for a favor which proved to be beneficial during her girl’s teenage years. She was certainly a resilient, strong, humble, and selfless mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Surviving Bobbie are her three daughters and son-in-laws that adored her. Jill (Mark) Jourdan Fissel of Danville, CA, Julie (Mike) Jourdan Stoddart and Jennifer (Max) Small, both of Evansville; a sister, Phyllis Huey and six grandchildren, Morgan, Grace, and Olivia Fissel. Chase, Carly and Caycee Small. Bobbie also left behind her loyal, fluffy sidekick, Callie. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents (Robert & Ethel), a sister and brother- in- law Jack & Bettie Hahn, as well as another brother- in- law Charles Huey.
