Rose Ann Adler, 81, of Haubstadt, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Deaconess Hospital Gateway Campus. Rosie was born November 12, 1938 in Wadesville, IN to the late Herman and Emma (Tenbarge) Elpers. She was an active member of St. Wendel Catholic Church and she and her husband, Gilbert, where inducted into the Brute` Society of the Diocese of Evansville for their service to the church in 2013. She served as a school cook at St. Wendel for many years; was active in the St. Ann’s Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She taught her grandchildren to bake, sew and play cards; loved watching their sporting events and activities at the 4-H fair. Rosie was famous for her tea rings and kuchens; she was an avid fan and supporter of Mater Dei athletics. She enjoyed traveling and spending her winters in Englewood, Florida where she met many new friends from around the country. Rosie also enjoyed spending time with the ladies in her card club that had met for almost 60 years. Surviving Rosie are her husband of 58 years, Gilbert Adler; daughters, Julie (Bill) Hart of Terre Haute, IN and Stacey (Jeff) Baehl of Evansville; three sons, Ron (Angel) Adler of Haubstadt, Jeff (Ellen) Adler of Evansville and Rick (Tracy) Adler of Haubstadt; four sisters, Martina Angermeier, Hilda (Francis) Spahn, Jane (Keith) Ward and Emma Jean (Richard) Couture; three brothers, Herman “Bud” Elpers, Paul (Sarah) Elpers and Dennis (Carol) Elpers and twelve grandchildren, Hannah and Wyatt Adler, Alexa Adler, Will, Wade and Stella Hart, Macey, Mitch and Merritt Adler, Norah, Olivia and Nick Baehl. In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Martin, Norma Hoffmann, Rita Hipp and Allene Hisch. Due to the pandemic, the Mass of Christian Burial will be private. Burial will be held in St. Wendel Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
